Softball Game!!

R had her first fall softball game tonight. They have a few girls on their team who have never played so there is a lot of instruction going on, which is perfect because R can still use some instruction and that is what fall ball is all about!

It looks like she will have a good team though and they will have fun!

First Day of School!!!!

Well, it is starting again! School! YAY!! The kids are excited and couldn't wait to get started. We are continueing to use Abeka language arts curriculum but we have made a few other changes. RJ will continue to use Abeka math (Algebra 1 this year). B will use Math-U-See this year, doing pre-algebra. R will continue using the Math-U-See and just finish the book she started last spring.
We have decided to try SOS for history and science. I think the kids will like it. They are excited about it!
I am a bit nervous about having a Senior High Student! Where has the time gone?

We will also still be busy with ball games that will be starting soon!!

Flute Lessons

B started flute lessons today. A high school homeschooled student is giving lessons at her home. B had a intro lesson last week and she liked the teacher and so we will continue with lessons. She is enjoying learning and the teacher will just continue in the book she had from Psalmist school last year.
One day, she will be able to play in the orchrestra at church and I won't have too! HAHA!

The boys are back!!

Oh my! I managed to get thru the week ok! The first few days were rough! I do NOT like being away from my husband.
The team had a great time in PA. They were part of a group and had a particular church plant to canvas for, do children's services, etc and just general helping out. RJ helped with puppets (he does puppet team at our church) and Rod helped with 'security'. He said he had one little boy that was a handful. Kicking and hitting and just trying to escape and go where he wasn't allowed. He even did it if Mom was in the room, but if Dad was there he was good as gold.
They saw several people saved and several people, including one of the girls from our youth group, healed! Exciting stuff!!
The girls & I had a good time with our play dates and activities to keep us busy.

Seeing the boys off for Missions Trip

Well, today we saw Rod & RJ off. They are going with the youth group on the Missions Trip. They are just going to PA but I am sure they will have tons of fun. I am going to miss them both very much! They will be working with a church that has church-plants in the inner-city area of Pittsburgh.

The girls & I have a few play dates lined up this week and hopefully we will keep busy. Tonight we have the end of our Kids Krusade we are doing for a local church in Wooster. The kids are all three on the puppet team & the team was asked to help this church do their Kids Krusade. We were there on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. And the girls will do tonight. RJ obviously will have to miss tonight. I am so proud of them for using their talents to minister each week at our church and now at another church as well!!

New month..........

What a busy day we had today!! First we got up early to take my nieces back home. Well, we met in Cincinnati. I was sad to see them leave and we will miss them but I know they were happy to see their mom! They spent 6 weeks with us this summer! My mom surprised all of the kids by riding with my sister. My kids were very happy to see Grandma!!
From Cincinnati, we went straight to the youth activity that was scheduled for that afternoon. It was 'slip & slide day'. A family from church had about a 100-200 foot slip & slide set up down their hill. The kids had a blast!! They also went swimming in the pool and we had ice cream sundaes! What better way to spend a hot summer day!!
It was a long day for us but we all had fun!!
